What is BuSpar?
BuSpar provides relief from anxiety by affecting chemicals in your brain that may become unbalanced.
BuSpar is not only used to treat the anxiety disorders but also provides short-term relief of the symptoms of anxiety, such as fear, tension, irritability, dizziness and other physical symptoms.
Important information about BuSpar
One should not use BuSpar in case of allergy to buspirone, or prior use of an MAO inhibitor such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), phenelzine (Nardil), rasagiline (Azilect), selegiline (Eldepryl, Emsam), or tranylcypromine (Parnate) within the past 14 days.. BuSpar can cause side effects that may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be awake and alert. Avoid drinking alcohol. It may increase some of the side effects caused by BuSpar.
Grapefruit and grapefruit juice may interact with BuSpar resulting in potentially dangerous effects.
BuSpar should not be taken for longer than a month without doctor's recommendation.
The physician must be informed of any potential liver or kidney diseases or drug allergies.
This medication is not supposed to be harm a fetus. Your doctor should be informed in case of a current or a future pregnancy. Nursing mothers should not use this medication without doctor's advice. This medication should not be administered to a child younger than 18 years old.
How should I take BuSpar?
Buspar should be taken exactly only as instructed by the label or the doctor.
Some tablet forms of buspirone (Buspar Dividose) may require to be breaking before use. These tablets contain special scored marks on them.
In case of switching from another anxiety medication to Buspar, the dosage of the other drug may be slwoly decreased instead of suden withdrawal.
What happens if I miss a dose?
In case of missing a dose, it should be taken as soon as you recall.
However, it is not advised to take 2 doses at once.
What happens if I overdose?
In case of overdose symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness, blurred vision, and stomach pain, medical attention should be sought immediately.
What should I avoid while taking BuSpar?
Activities that require full metal alertness should be avoided while taking this drug. Alcohol consumption must be avoided as it causes an increase in some of the side effects caused by BuSpar.
Cold or allergy medicine, narcotic pain medicine, sleeping pills, muscle relaxers, and medicine for seizures, or depression can increase the drowsiness caused by BuSpar. The doctor should be informed in case of regular use of any of the above medicines.

What are the possible side effects of BuSpar?
In case of hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, the physician must be contacted immediately. Some other serious side effects include feeling light-headed, fainting; fast heart rate; depressed mood, unusual thoughts or behavior; or lack of balance or coordination.
Less serious side effects such as drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision; feeling restless; sleep problems (insomnia); or trouble concentrating are more common.
