What is Flextra-DS?
Flextra DS is a drug and includes Acetaminophen and Phenyltoloxamine.
Uses
Flextra DS is used for relieving pain and for lowering fever. It is also used to treat runny nose, sneezing and cold symptoms.
This is due to the ingredients of Flextra DS.
You might be prescribed Aldactone for uses other than those listed above. It may also be given along with other medicines for some other disease too. Contact your doctor or pharmacist about the uses of Aldactone.
Warnings
Flextra DS is not to be taken if you have used an MAO inhibitor in the past 14 days. Life threatening reactions can occur if Flextra DS is taken along with an MAO inhibitor. Wait at least 2 weeks so that the MAO inhibitor cleans away from the body before you can use Flextra DS.
Using Flextra DS will affect your thinking skills and reactions. Do not take part in any activity that requires you to stay alert or awake.
If you use more than 3 alcoholic beverages a day then inform your doctor about it. You may need to undergo prescribed tests before you can use Flextra DS along with alcohol.
It is not known if Flextra DS is of any harm to an unborn baby. Do not use Flextra DS without informing your doctor if you are pregnant. Also inform your doctor of any planned pregnancy during the course. Flextra DS can pass into breast milk and cause harm to a nursing baby.
How should I take Flextra-DS
Flextra DS should only be used according to the prescribed way. Do not take Flextra DS for a longer time than the given course. Flextra DS is not to be used in bigger amounts than the prescribed amount.
Flextra DS should not be taken more than 1 gram per dose. The limit for a day is 4 grams. Always keep in mind of the amount of Flextra DS you are using.
If your symptoms do not improve then contact your doctor. This drug may alter the results of some medical tests. So before hand tell the doctor if you are using Flextra DS.
What happens if I overdose?
Get medical help if the patient uses too much of this medicine.
Firstly if the patient over doses then he or she may face nausea, vomiting, sweating, weakness or stomach pains.
Later symptoms of an over dose are pain in the upper stomach, jaundice and dark urine.
Flextra-DS side effects
You may face serious side effects of Flextra DS but these occur in very rare cases. These include:
- Uneven heartbeats;
- Nausea;
- Fever;
- Dark urine;
- Easy bruising;
- Chills;
- Body aches; or
- Flu symptoms.
If you face these then contact your doctor immediately and stop the intake of Flextra DS.
Commonly people face the less serious side effects. These effects include:
- Dry nose;
- Dizziness;
- Blurred vision;
- Less urination or
- Feeling excited or hyperactive.
Proper storage of Flextra DS
Flextra DS is to be stored at room temperature. Room temperature: 68 to 77 Degrees F or 20 to 25o C. It is to be kept in a tightly closed container. Keep Flextra DS away from sunlight, heat and moisture. Do not place it in bathrooms. Keep Flextra DS out of the reach of children and away from pets.

What happens if I miss a dose?
If the patient misses a dose then take the missed dose as soon as possible. If the scheduled next dose is near then skip the missed dose. Continue the rest of the course as usual. Do not take any other medicine to cover up the missed dose.
