Mircette General Information
Mircette is a birth control pill used to prevent pregnancy. It is an oral contraceptive, which regularizes the menstrual cycles and prevents the release of an egg from an ovary.
Mircette Uses
Mircette is very effective and easy birth control pill, which contains a combination of female hormones, which not only controls the fertilized egg from attaching itself to the uterine lining, but also prevents the sperm from reaching the uterus.
How Take Mircette
Mircette must be taken once a day at the same time every day. The first pill must be taken either on the first day of your period or on the first Sunday after your period starts.
One pack of Mircette lasts 28 days, which, must be taken as prescribed by a physician. Once you finish a pack, start a new pack the following day.
Mircette Warnings
Mircette should not be used if you recently had a baby or if you are pregnant. It can cause birth defects. Mircette intake is not recommended in any of the conditions such as History of blood clot or stroke, Abnormal vaginal bleeding, Circulation problems caused by diabetes, Liver disease, Hormone related cancer like uterine or breast cancer, High blood pressure, Heart valve disorder, Migraine, and History of jaundice caused by birth control pills.
Mircette Missed Dose
Missing even one dose of Mircette will increase the risk of pregnancy.
In case number of pills missed is:
- One: Take two pills on the day you remember. Then continue taking one pill per day.
- Two in a row in week one or two: Take two pills per day for two days. Then continue taking one pill per day.
- Two in a row in week 3 or Three in a row during any of the first 3 weeks: In case you started the pill on the first day of your period, throw the rest of the pack and start a new on the same day. If you started the pill on the first Sunday after your period started, continue taking a pill every day, until next Sunday, when you throw the rest of the pack and start a new one.
- Two or more: In this case, you may not have period during that month. In case you miss period for two consecutive months, consult your doctor, as you might be pregnant.
Mircette Side Effects
Potential side effects are Nausea, Vomiting, and Headaches
Mircette Storage Advice
Mircette should be stored at 25 degrees C (77 F), away from heat, moisture, and light, and kept out of reach of children.
Mircette Overdose
An overdose may cause nausea, vaginal bleeding, and vomiting. You should seek immediate medical attention.
Mircette More Information
Consult your doctor before using a new medication. Intake of other drugs can make Mircette less effective, resulting in pregnancy. It is advised to use back-up birth control (e.g. condoms), when you first start using Mircette. Do not take the pill for longer period than recommended by your doctor.
