Patanol General Information
Patanol is eye drop helps in relieving or even preventing allergy. You must use this eye drop twice a day, but one must consult physician before actually using this. You may have side effects such as headaches, burning in the eye, or blurred vision.
Patanol Uses
You may use Patanol to treat allergic conditions in the eye, such as watering, inflammation, puffy eyes, burning, or itching. You can use this eye drop even over long-term without the risk of swelling or making redness once you stop using this eye drop.
How Take Patanol
You must never use this medicine for longer period or in larger amount than told by the physician.
Always wash your hands before pouring the eye drops into the eyes. You must apply the eye drop by holding the dropper just above the eye. Squeeze the drop of the medicine into the eyes, and then close the eyes. To avoid the medicine draining into tear duct, press finger near your nose, which is the inside corner of the eye. You must always wait for five minutes before putting next drop into the eyes. Dropper must be clean. Contaminated dropper can cause infection in the eyes.
In case the liquid in the dropper has changed its color, do not use the same.
Patanol Warnings
You must tell the physician in case you have any type of eye infection before using Patanol. You must not use Patanol, while wearing contact lenses. Remove contact lenses before using this eye drop. Further, wait for 10 min after using the eye drop, before putting them back.
Patanol might be harmful to unborn or newly born baby. Hence, please tell your physician know in case you are pregnant or are breast- feeding baby.
Patanol Missed Dose
In case, you missed a particular dose, put the same as soon as you remember. However, in case, it is time for the next dose, then skip the missed dose. Never take extra dose even if you have missed one dose. Inform your physician of the same.
Patanol Side Effects
Less serious side effects in eyes may include mild burning, stinging, blurred vision, irritation, itching, redness, puffy eyelids, Dryness.
Other side effects are runny nose, cough, sore throat, weakness, back pain, Headache, unpleasant taste in the mouth, difficulty breathing, swelling of face.
Patanol Storage Advice
Store the drops at room temperature away from heat and moisture. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
Patanol Overdose
Immediately consult your physician if you feel you have taken overdose of Patanol. It is not likely to cause any serious impact unless you have consumed through mouth by mistake.
Patanol More Information
While you are using Patanol, do not use any other eye medicine not told by your physician. You must stop using Patanol in case you suffer from redness, burning, swelling, drainage, stinging, crusting, or some other irritation after using the eye drops. You must not use Patanol, if your eyes are allergic to olopatadine.
