Propecia is used for treatment of male pattern hair loss. This medicine is not cure for hair loss. However, the same helps in temporarily stopping the hair loss and further regrowing the hair. This medicine comes in form of pill.
Propecia Uses
You must use Propecia to stop hair loss only for male. You must not use this medicine to cure hair loss in children and women.
How Take Propecia
You must take one pill of Propecia once a day regularly or as prescribed by your physician. The medicine should not be taken for longer period than recommended by your physician. You may take this medicine with or without meals, but you must have one full glass of water with the medicine.
To see the benefits of this medicine, you must take this medicine for three months regularly. In case you stop using this medicine, you will lose whatever hair gain you had.
The treatment with this medicine will unlikely to be of benefit, if it has not worked in twelve months.
Propecia Warnings
You must talk to your physician before taking this medicine in case you have:
- An allergic reaction to medicine
- Liver disease
- Bladder muscle disorder
- Problem in urinating
You must consult your physician immediately in case you notice:
- Breast lumps
- Pin
- Nipple discharge
- Or other breast changes
The above-mentioned signs may be of male breast cancer.
Further, women or children must not take this medicine. This medicine may cause birth defects in case a woman is pregnant. Hence, pregnant women must not handle this medicine. In case a woman comes in contact of the broken or crushed pill, she must wash with soap and water.
Propecia Missed Dose
One must take the missed dose, as soon as one remembers. In case, it is time for next dose, in that case skip the missed dose. You must not take extra dose.
Propecia Side Effects
One must contact physician immediately in case you notice:
- Allergic reaction
- Difficulty in breathing
- Swelling of face, lips, or tongue
- Breast lumps, pain, nipple discharge
- Swelling in hand or feet
- Pain in testicles
- Loss of interest in sex
- Abnormal ejaculation
- Weakness
- Dizziness
- Running nose
- Headache
- Skin rash
One must visit physician immediately in case one has any of the above mentioned or even some other bothersome side effects.

Propecia must be stored away from sunlight and moisture at the room temperature. You must keep the bottle tightly closed.
Propecia Overdose
Visit your physician in case you have taken overdose of Propecia. Overdose of this medicine does not cause any life-threatening symptoms.
