Sumycin General Information
Sumycin is a medication prescribed to treat bacterial infections. Some of the known treated infections are Lyme disease, certain types of pneumonia, certain types of urinary tract infections, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Cholera, Plague, or Acne treatment

Sumycin is used for treating infections caused by certain bacteria.
How Take Sumycin
It is always advised to use Sumycin as prescribed by the doctor. Always complete the entire course of treatment prescribed. Do not stop the intake of the medicine midway, as the infection may resurface.
Sumycin is taken orally with water and advisably at the same time every day. Do not consume along with an antacid; maintain a difference of 1 - 2 hours before or after each medicine.
It has been established that Sumycin works best if consumed either one hour before, or two hours after a meal.
Throw away outdated tablets. Consumption of expired pills may have adverse effect on kidneys

Sumycin Missed Dose
In the event of missing a dose, immediately take the dose and continue as usual. However, in case you realize the miss near the next scheduled time, do not take the missed dose; take the regular one.
Never take double doses at one go.
Sumycin Side Effects
Some common side effects reported for Sumycin are: Black hairy tongue, joint pain, blurred vision, rash, diarrhea, bulky loose stools
Nausea, mouth sores, sensitivity to sunlight, headache, difficulty swallowing, hoarseness, sore throat, fever, itching of the rectum, indigestion, loss of appetite, , hives, , stomach pain, inflammation of tongue, , Stomach upset, redness of tongue, Dizziness, or fatigue
Some side effects require immediate medical attention: Severe allergic skin reactions, infection, severe skin reaction to the sun, tightness in the chest, swelling of facial features, vomiting, nausea, itching, vaginal irritation, Fever and chills, difficulty breathing, or sore throat.

Sumycin Overdose
Excess intake of Sumycin may cause some overdose problems, which can be in the form of Nausea, Diarrhea or loss of appetite. Consult your physician in such a case.
Sumycin More Information
The medicine is prescribed according to the nature of the infection. Hence, it must not be shared with people who show a similar nature of ailment. It is advised not to lie down for 30 minutes if you have taken this medicine.
Sumycin tablet comes in potencies of 250mg and 500mg and the liquid strength is 125mg/5mL.
