Triphasil General Information
Triphasil is a birth control pill used to prevent pregnancy. It is an oral contraceptive, which regularizes the menstrual cycles and prevents the release of an egg from the ovary. These are normally called "combined" contraceptives due its dual function.

Triphasil is an oral contraceptive used to prevent pregnancy.
How Take Triphasil
Triphasil must be taken once a day at the same time every day. The first pill either must be taken on the first day of your period or on the first Sunday after your period starts.
One pack of Triphasil lasts 28 days, which, must be taken as advised. Once you finish a pack, start a new pack the following day.
Triphasil Warnings
Use this medicine as prescribed. It should not be used if you recently had a baby or if you are pregnant. It can cause birth defects. Avoid in case of conditions like: Blood clot, Diabetes related problems , Liver disease, High blood pressure, Birth control pills related Jaundice, Abnormal vaginal bleeding, Migraine, Hormone-related cancer, or Heart valve disorder.
Triphasil is not advised for any of the following: high blood pressure, heart disease, high cholesterol, gallbladder disease, angina, diabetes, convulsions, irregular menstrual cycles, depression, breast disease, abnormal mammogram, uterine fibroid tumors, varicose veins, or tuberculosis
Triphasil Missed Dose
Missing even one dose will increase the risk of pregnancy. In case number of pills missed is:
- One: Take two pills on the day you remember. Then continue taking one pill per day.
- Two in a row in week one or two: Take two pills per day for two days. Then continue taking one pill per day.
- Two in a row in week 3 or Three in a row during any of the first 3 weeks: In case you started the pill on the first day of your period, throw the rest of the pack and start a new on the same day. If you started the pill on the first Sunday after your period started, continue taking a pill every day, until next Sunday, when you throw the rest of the pack and start a new one.
- Two or more: In this case, you may not have period during that month. In case you miss period for two consecutive months, consult your doctor, as you might be pregnant.
Triphasil Side Effects
Side effects can be weakness, chest pain, vision problems, loss of appetite, vaginal itching, confusion, stomach pain, sweating, Numbness, headache, nausea, dark urine, jaundice, or depression.

Triphasil Overdose
An overdose may cause nausea, vaginal bleeding, and vomiting.
Triphasil More Information
Consult doctor before using a new medication. Intake of other drugs can make Triphasil less effective, resulting in pregnancy. It is advised to use back-up birth control (e.g. condoms), when you first start using Triphasil. Do not take the pill for longer period than recommended by your doctor.
